This policy explains how WorksBien Studios Inc. handles information in Shrinkflation Price Scanner version 1.0 for iPhone and iPad in the United States, including Puerto Rico. The app does not require an account and does not use a WorksBien cloud database or a runtime product-data API. Your saved price checks stay in the app's local storage. Advertising, purchases, device backups, support, and external links involve the third parties described below.
Information stored on your device
The app stores the information you enter or save to compare products over time. This can include a supermarket, trip date, barcode or manual product identifier, product name, package amount and unit, shelf price, price type, optional purchase quantity, comparison result, and whether you bought, skipped, or switched. Unknown or changed barcodes can be linked to a product family you have already saved.
This functional data is stored in the app container on your device. WorksBien does not receive it through a proprietary server, does not use it as an advertising request parameter, and does not sell it. You can delete individual history records where offered or delete all local app data in Settings. Deleting the app also removes its local container.
Copies can remain in an iCloud, Finder, or other device backup controlled by you and Apple. The app does not control or independently delete those backups.
Camera and on-device recognition
The app asks for camera access only when you choose to scan a retail barcode or shelf-price label. Barcode and text recognition use Apple frameworks on the device. The app does not save camera video or send camera frames to WorksBien. If you deny camera access, you can enter the barcode, package amount, and price manually.
Built-in USDA catalogue
The app includes a read-only catalogue made from the April 30, 2026 USDA FoodData Central branded-food release. The app selects 426,044 US products and preserves source barcodes, descriptions, provenance, and product-family identities. The catalogue does not provide live shelf prices or guarantee the current package amount. You enter and verify those changing values.
USDA catalogue data can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Inclusion does not imply that USDA, a brand, or a supermarket endorses WorksBien or the app.
Advertising and privacy choices
The free app has a reserved banner area. In a production advertising configuration, it can request a banner from Google Mobile Ads. Google's User Messaging Platform presents privacy choices when required, and iOS can ask for App Tracking Transparency authorization before data is used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Declining optional tracking or consent does not disable the catalogue, scanning, comparison, history, or impact tools.
Google states that its Mobile Ads SDK can process information such as IP address, general location inferred from IP, device or advertising identifiers, crash logs, performance data, advertising data, app interactions, consent signals, and diagnostic information for ad delivery, measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and related purposes. The exact processing depends on the released SDK, ad configuration, region, and your choices. Google handles that information under its own policies.
TestFlight and development builds use Google's sample advertising identifiers and intentionally bypass the User Messaging Platform. If an ad is unavailable, the device has no connection, or the advertising configuration is invalid, the app shows a WorksBien house banner instead of making an unexplained ad claim.
When Google requires an in-app privacy-options entry point, it appears in Settings. You can also manage iOS tracking permission in the device's Settings app.
Purchase information
Remove Banner is an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. The app receives the verified entitlement and transaction state needed to remove or restore the fixed banner. WorksBien does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple controls payment authorization, taxes, refunds, family sharing if enabled, and purchase records under Apple's terms and privacy policy.
Support and external links
If you contact WorksBien through the support page, WorksBien receives the message, contact information, and attachments you choose to provide. That information is used to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, keep necessary support records, and comply with law. Do not send scans or other information you do not want WorksBien to receive.
Policy, support, Apple, Google, and USDA links open services outside the app. Those services control their own content and privacy practices.
Retention and disclosure
Local shopping data remains on your device until you delete it or the app container is removed. Apple and Google retain information they process according to their own policies and legal obligations. WorksBien keeps support communications only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain necessary business records, resolve disputes, protect the service, or meet legal obligations.
WorksBien may disclose information it actually holds when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security issues, or complete a business transaction with appropriate safeguards.
Your choices and rights
You can use the app without an account, decline camera access, enter product information manually, make advertising privacy choices when that control is required, change iOS tracking permission, delete local app data, and choose whether to contact support.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning information WorksBien holds about you, such as support communications. Use the WorksBien customer support page to ask a privacy question or make a request. WorksBien may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Children
Shrinkflation Price Scanner is a general shopping utility and is not directed to children. WorksBien does not knowingly collect children's account information because the app has no account system. Advertising configuration and store age-rating answers must remain consistent with the released build.
Changes and contact
WorksBien may update this policy when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date and material changes will be updated on the public policy page.
