These Terms govern your use of Shrinkflation Price Scanner, provided by WorksBien Studios Inc., in the United States and Puerto Rico. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These Terms supplement Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple's terms control where required. Mandatory consumer protections and remedies remain available where they cannot lawfully be limited.
What the app does
The app helps you record consumer products and compare package amounts and unit costs over time. You choose a supermarket for a shopping trip, scan a supported barcode or enter a product manually, and record the current package amount and shelf price.
The first saved check creates a baseline. A later comparable check can indicate less product, a higher unit cost, better value, no meaningful change, or that more information is needed. A price increase alone is not labeled shrinkflation when the package amount and item count did not decrease.
How comparisons work
The app normalizes compatible quantities and can link changed barcodes within one saved product family. A package-size change can be detected without a price. Money impact is estimated only when the saved records have compatible supermarket, currency, channel, price type, and any recorded branch.
Results are informational estimates. They are not financial, legal, nutritional, or other professional advice and do not prove that a manufacturer or supermarket acted intentionally.
Your responsibility
Verify the product, variant, package amount, unit, item count, shelf price, price type, supermarket, and date before saving. Barcode recognition, text recognition, catalogue records, manual entries, and product-family links can be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for corrections and shopping decisions.
Catalogue and local data
The bundled catalogue uses the April 30, 2026 USDA FoodData Central branded-food release and contains 426,044 selected US products. USDA, product, and retailer names and marks belong to their respective owners. Catalogue inclusion does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or verification of a current package or price.
Your history and learned barcode links are saved locally. You are responsible for protecting your device and maintaining any backup you want. Deleting local data or the app can permanently remove records from the device. This version does not promise a WorksBien cloud recovery, account restore, or data export.
Advertising and Remove Banner
The free app reserves an area for a fixed banner. Depending on configuration and connectivity, it can show a Google ad or a WorksBien house banner.
Remove Banner is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. Apple displays the current localized price and handles payment, taxes, refunds, and purchase authorization. The purchase removes the fixed banner while the verified StoreKit entitlement is active. Use Restore Purchase in Settings for an eligible purchase made with the same Apple Account.
Third-party services
Apple, Google, USDA, and linked websites apply their own terms and policies. WorksBien is not responsible for third-party ads, sites, products, prices, inventory, delivery, returns, or warranties. Listing a product or supermarket does not imply an endorsement or business relationship.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the app unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm another person.
- Do not bypass security, purchase verification, or technical safeguards.
- Do not knowingly use app results to make false or misleading claims about a product, brand, or retailer.
- Do not copy or redistribute the catalogue except as applicable law and the source terms allow.
- Do not interfere with the app, its providers, or another user's device or account.
Availability and changes
The app, catalogue, ads, purchases, and third-party services can change, be interrupted, or become unavailable. WorksBien can update or discontinue features, subject to applicable law and store obligations. The app does not guarantee that every barcode will be recognized or that every catalogue record is complete or current.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app and its data are provided as is and as available, without a guarantee that they are complete, current, uninterrupted, or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WorksBien is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, lost savings, shopping decisions, lost local data, or a dispute with a retailer or manufacturer. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, right, remedy, or liability that applicable law does not allow WorksBien to exclude.
Applicable terms and consumer rights
Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement and applicable mandatory law govern your licensed use. No provision in these Terms removes consumer protections that apply where you live, including Puerto Rico.
Changes and contact
WorksBien may update these Terms when the app or legal obligations change. The effective date will be updated on the public page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
